As an Engineering Technician you will support the development and fabrication of cutting-edge dexterous robotic hands. In this role you will work at the intersection of mechanics and electronics, assembling prototypes, developing and executing tests, and organize and manage a state-of-the-art hardware workshop. Your work will be a key contribution to bring a complex product from concepts and early-stage prototypes all the way to scaling manufacturing. ​
Key Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble prototypes and small batch series of robotic hands

Develop and constantly improve manufacturing and assembly procedures

Develop, conduct and document reliability and lifetime testing of your systems

Organise and manage our state-of-the-art mechanical workshop

Help install robots at customer sites and provide hardware maintenance and support for customer projects

Instruct others on processes and procedures you master

Requirements
-
Professional training (Ausbildung) or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field

Strong intuition for mechanical and electrical systems with hands-on experience in building and assembling complex prototypes

3D printing (FDM) expertise from professional or private projects

Proficiency in at least several of the following technical topics:

C++ / C / Python
-
PCB design
-
CAD design
-
Design for manufacturing
-
SMD soldering experience

Knowledge of manufacturing processes like CNC machining, injection-molding, etc.

High motivation and problem-solving ability

Well-structured, tidy and organized work style, with the ability to motivate others to follow structure

Must hold a Swiss work permit or EU passport

Fluent in English
